Recycle any brand of contact lenses and blister packs through this program
Wellness Eyecare is actively looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. One of the ways to support this is by being a public drop off location for the TerraCycle and Bausch + Lomb Recycling Program for any brand of used contact lenses and blister packs.
What can be recycled in this program?
Accepted waste: All brands of contact lenses, cases and blister packs.
Next time you visit Wellness Eyecare, bring in your old contact lenses, cases and blister packs and place them in the marked container near the front desk. These will then be shipped to TerraCycle by dropping them off at the post office.
What happens to the waste?
Once received, the contact lenses and blister packs are separated by composition and cleaned. The metal layers of the blister packs are recycled separately, while the contact lenses and plastic blister pack components are melted into plastic that can be remolded to make recycled products.
